DECEMBER 2022 - www.CWEPTA.com

Message from the President

Hello Cougar Parents,

This year seems to have flown by, and we are already near the end of 2022! At the CWE PTA front, our amazing team has been busy and successfully ran several fun and meaningful events this past month.  I also want to give a big thank you to our parents for contributing their time and money to these events. Our parents, teachers, staff, and admin are the four pillars of support for our PTA, providing a solid foundation for everything we do.

Amount raised during our various events will go back to our kids and school. We are excited about the upcoming assemblies, field trips, and school parties etc. that PTA can fund so that our kids can have fun in the midst of learning.

We appreciate our VIPS of the month for the past couple of months: Sam and Supriya. All the board members have stepped up to help in making every event memorable. Hands-On-Science was enjoyed by both kids and parents. The ultimate success of such events is when we see the spark in kids’ eyes as they enjoy doing experiments while learning. Over 20,000 individual craft pieces were sorted and bagged by the many volunteers. Thanks to Dana for chairing this event and Rimple and Yulin for being the supporting hands. Art Reflection saw another successful year with many wonderful art pieces submitted by our talented kids. Lindie Johnston did an excellent job of chairing this event. We are excited to see our kids perform well in the state and win accolades for our school.

Thank you to all the parents for donating to our teacher appreciation event. Teachers, staff, and admin are ever so thankful for all your thoughtfulness.

We are wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year and Happy Holidays! See you all in 2023!

- Gayathri Nandakumar, PTA President

Teacher Appreciation - Thanksgiving Event

Our teacher appreciation team hosted a Thanksgiving event to show our appreciation to our wonderful CWE teachers and staff. We could not have done it without the generous donations from our parents, as well as the parent volunteers, room reps and PTA board members for taking care of lunch and recess duty.  Thank you for making this possible!

October Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations to Supriya Prasadi Mangire, our VIPS of the month for October. Supriya donated 109 hours in October. She was in charge of concessions for Carnival, which involved researching cost and quantity of items, purchasing all items, and setting up and running the concessions booth. In her role as the Teacher Appreciation chair, she organized two events, a Fall and a Thanksgiving Event. She also got our Secret Pals program up and running. She participated in Hands on Science and Art Reflections. She is also CWE's representative for SEPAC (the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee). We are so appreciative of all you give to our community. Thank you, Supryia!!

VIPS Honorable Mentions

Thank you volunteers! You all donated a whopping 793 off campus hours in October! Some all stars this month were Pounami Bose and Xuhong Sun. Thank you for giving your time to CWE!!

Just a reminder to make sure you have your district background check prior to volunteering with Commonwealth. We need you and your skills and are so appreciative of all of our volunteers. Volunteers are part of what makes Commonwealth such an amazing school!
