Dear Cougar Parents,

Summertime – we all made it! What a wonderful year it has been. Seeing our children prosper and grow, our school continue to stand strong, and our community to show resilience, tolerance and unity make for a beautiful place to live. Congratulations to our 5th Graders – enjoy the break before middle school opens a new chapter for you. Given the care and love that CWE provided you, you are well equipped for what is to come. We will dearly miss your smiles in our halls.

VIPS of May is Neha Kurji, she led one of the most important roles within the PTA – our teacher appreciation chair. Together with her team, she hosted monthly lunches, snacks and seasonal feasts, celebrated every teacher and staffer’s birthdays, and ensured everyone feels appreciated! Thank you, Neha, for your unwavering commitment to the PTA and yearlong event planning! We will miss you next year.

The PTA recognizes Sumita Ghosh for her tenure on the PTA board and wishes her well!

This month’s PTA General Assembly is on Friday 16 th at noon on zoom. We will present next year’s budget and an overview of our new chairs. Please join, if you can!

Award winning Brain Pop and Brain Pop Junior is back! The PTA paid for a 12-month software subscription. Ask your teacher for the log in info or find it thru clever.

Thank you all for allowing me the opportunity to serve you as your PTA president. I am looking forward to one more term for the 2025-2026 school year. However, at the core of it all is the committed, creative and diligent group of board members and volunteers who all serve our school with great passion and dedication. Thank you, to all of you for your generosity with your time and energy to make this a fantastic school year. May we continue with full force and serve our students, teachers, staff, and community.

It is important to submit for the time you spend volunteering for CWE when you are not on campus. The district keeps track of volunteer hours and it impacts grant requests for our school.

Quick note: Feel free to estimate the total hours for the month and just submit one entry. This is how most people submit hours. Entering per day is fine as well. Please use the method that is easiest for you.

Please report your volunteer hours the PTA website.

Ø  Visit Kroger Community Rewards.

Ø  Sign in to your digital account (or create one if you don’t have one).

Ø  Select Commonwealth Elementary, Sugar Land, TX as your organization.

Ø  Shop at Kroger, and the school will automatically earn money every time you shop!
