Dear Cougar Parents,

Spring is here – it’s green and warm again, my favorite time of the year!

CWE recognizes Child Abuse Awareness month during April by getting all the students to show their support and awareness by making paper mâché butterflies and colorful birds, and spreading the word all around the school. Thank you to the volunteer parents who helped the PTA and the school with this.

VIPS of April is Anjly Shah, for running the most successful PTA Auction in CWE’s 28 year old history – wow! So many fun activities for our students, gift baskets from our sponsors and naming rights across the school. Thank you to all who supported the auction.

VIPS of the Year 2024-2025 is Allie Moreno. CWE would not be the same without her. Allie chairs our Sponsorship role and therefore recruits and manages all current partnerships with our business sponsors. She doubled the amount and the number of companies supporting the PTA. Allie also runs our social media channels, FB, IG, and she creates most of our visual posts, including the very helpful monthly calendar. Allie also offers her support to all other board members and is one of our most active members caring deeply about the school and all children. Please join me in acknowledging Allie’s unbelievable commitment and year-round support for the PTA.

This month’s PTA General Assembly is in person and confirms next year’s board. Come join us on Friday April 4th.

Brain Pop and Brain Pop Junior is back! The PTA paid for a 12-month subscription. Ask your teacher for the log in info.

The PTA enjoyed seeing some new faces at our VIPS coffee and general PTA assembly. It was a nice opportunity to share ideas & get feedback about certain topics of interest. Thank you to those who were able to attend!

It is important to submit for the time you spend volunteering for CWE when you are not on campus. The district keeps track of volunteer hours and it impacts grant requests for our school.

Quick note: Feel free to estimate the total hours for the month and just submit one entry. This is how most people submit hours. Entering per day is fine as well. Please use the method that is easiest for you.

CWE PTA celebrated March birthdays of our amazing teachers and staff above. They were presented with a gift card and a box of assorted delicious desserts ordered from ‘Cakes By Zain’ 

We are thrilled to share that our recent Silent Auction was a tremendous success, and we couldn’t have done it without your generous support! Thanks to the incredible contributions from our parents, staff, and local businesses, we raised funds that will directly benefit our students and enhance their learning experiences.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, or spread the word. Some of the exciting prizes that generated so much buzz included class parties - including a new Taylor Swift and Glow party, Teacher of the Day, naming rights for rooms, personalized paw prints, aquarium passes, facials, spa treatments and so much more. Your support helped make these unique experiences possible!

We are incredibly grateful for our wonderful school community and the spirit of generosity that made this event such a success. Stay tuned for updates on how these funds will be used to support our students, and once again, thank you for your continued support!

Ø  Visit Kroger Community Rewards.

Ø  Sign in to your digital account (or create one if you don’t have one).

Ø  Select Commonwealth Elementary, Sugar Land, TX as your organization.
